"Hamomi Children’s Centre improves the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Nairobi, Kenya by allowing them to develop into adults with the skills necessary to improve their own social and economic condition. We offer comprehensive care by creating a safe and nurturing environment through which we provide the widest array of opportunities possible." - Hamomi Website
My involvement with Hamomi started in third grade, where together with a group of friends, I managed to collect school and art supplies for the kids at Hamomi every year. Since sixth grade (2012), I've made annual trips to teach technology lessons and hand out donations. We also engaged in other STEM activities such as physics, biology and other sciences. On my latest trip, I was able to bring a friend along, and together we were able to expand the curriculum and even hold a teacher training session to integrate technology into the classroom.
